FAQS

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I book my date?

As soon as possible. Dates are reserved on a first come first serve basis and a 50% non refundable retainer is required.

What type of materials do you use?

I love working in oils! Italian, Dutch and German oil paints are simply beautiful, luminous and blend together wonderfully while I’m working. The finest quality pigments are a guarantee that that colours will last for generations.

I personally stretch my own 100% heavy Belgian linen canvas which is a much more resistant support than cotton, again ensuring the durability of your painting.

What happens if my wedding is cancelled or postponed due to COVID or force majeure? ?

If your event should be cancelled or postponed due to COVID-19 or force majeure, the non-refundable retainer will become a voucher for for 2023-24 or go towards a wedding portrait or wedding flower painting.

What do you require during the event?

I will bring all of the necessary materials: paints, brushes, easel, easel lamp. I do require a space of about 6ft. x 6ft. (2m. x 2m.) in order to work comfortably. My work area also needs to have a free view of the scene I will be painting.

Can my guests talk to the artist during the painting?

Yes, of course! It’s always a pleasure to engage with your guests. Many people have never seen a painting take place before and I truly understand how special this can be.

How long will you be painting at my event?

I prefer arriving at your venue 3 hours before the start of the scene to be painted in order to set up my painting area, study the area and quickly get an initial sketch in so by the time your guests arrive they can see that the painting is starting to appear. I will paint 3 hours during your celebration.

Do I get to choose who goes in my painting?

Yes, of course! 10-14 family and friends to be included in the painting is a delightful amount. More figures such as children, servers or guests will be painted to accompany the composition and create the joyful atmosphere of the day.

What size will my painting be?

The sky is the limit!

My current approximate sizes are:

  • 150 x 150 cm. / 59 x 59 in. (circular format available)
  • 120 x 240 cm. / 47.2 x 94.4

Different formats, larger canvases, and multi-panel paintings are available.

Kindly send me an email with your request and it will be a pleasure to draft you a quote.

Do you travel outside of Italy?

Yes, I do travel in Europe, the Middle East & beyond.

When will my painting be ready?

At the end of the evening, I will have completed a small painting study of the general composition of your painting. Once in the studio, I will use it as a reference to complete your Grand Luxury Event Painting by adding all the precious details to make it the absolute best.

Depending on the size of your painting and my painting schedule, it may be ready in 8-12 weeks.

Once your painting has been finished, I will send you photos for your approval.

Drying time is approximately 10-14 days.

Once your painting is dry, a light protective varnish will be applied which requires approximately 7-10 days to dry.

Afterwards your painting will be carefully packaged, rolled and shipped via international express courier.
